West Lyon has icons, images, phrases, and logos that represent the campuses, athletics, extracurricular activities, boosters and the District as a whole. Including, but not limited to, the West Lyon paw and Wildcat Head image and logo, along with the phrase “home of the Wildcats” which is very popular in the West Lyon community as it represents the high school as a whole and West Lyon athletics at all levels. For students, employees, parents and the community, these icons, images, phrases, and logos are synonymous with school spirit, unity and loyalty. Because they represent the District, they are the official brand. To protect this brand, the West Lyon Community School District implemented this policy for their proper use, including a process for requesting them: The use of any West Lyon icon, image, phrase, or logo shall require prior approval in writing from the superintendent in accordance with this Policy.
