A little bit about Mrs. Kerkvliet:

I am in my 11th year of teaching here at West Lyon and my does time fly! I grew up a few miles away from West Lyon and attended Inwood Christian K-8 and then came to West Lyon for High School. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Physical Education with a Health Minor from Northwestern in Orange City in 2012 and earned my Masters in Teacher Leadership also through Northwestern in 2018. 

I have taught all 11 years in the 5th grade and continue to teach math and reading to my homeroom kids and writing to all of the 5th graders. Our 5th grade team consists of Chase Vander Feen who teaches Social Studies and Janelle Rentschler who teaches Science. I also have the privilege to coach Junior High Track and High School Girls and Boys Cross Country. It gets to become a very busy year!

My husband Noah and I have three very busy little boys named Edison who is 7, Conrad who is 4, and Theo who is 16 months.  They are always on the go. We enjoy swimming, biking, running, reading, puzzles, playing games together and cheering on the Wildcats!
