 My name is Mrs. Sorensen and I have taught at West-Lyon for 21 years. I have taught second grade and kindergarten here, and have been teaching third grade for the past 13 years. I taught first grade for one year in California before coming to West-Lyon. I graduated from the University of Sioux Falls a few (quite a few...) years ago!I have been married for 19 years to my husband, Tim, and we have 4 children. We live in Sioux Falls. Our oldest, MIchael, got married in July of 2018. He and Breanna are going to make us grandparents in August of 2019! We have three children in High School - Austin is a senior, Jaida is a junior, and Alaina is a freshman. Our days and weekends have always been full with football, volleyball, marching band, soccer, basketball, and track! I enjoy traveling with my family to lots of places! We have been to Cancun, the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Hollywood, Universal and Disney World in Florida, Belize, among many other places. In the summer, I enjoy being on the lake, reading, and spending time with my husband and children. I LOVE teaching at West-Lyon! The teachers are amazing and feel like family to me.
